Greetings,

We attach the Parish Newsletter, the Advent Wreath with weekly prayer for children and the Children’s Week Flyer and Submission.  The Archdiocese is encouraging all children to participate.  This week we celebrate the memorial of Vietnamese Saint Andrew Dung-Lac, priest and martyr (page 5) and we start to give you some insights on the Safeguarding framework (page 2-4).  Please take time to read and feel free to offer any feedback or comments.

We are of course very excited about welcoming everybody back to our church and hope you notice the beautiful banner as an initiative of the Archdiocese.  It is offered in the hope that you will join this simple effort to propose Jesus –as the answer and a way forward in this tumultuous time around our globe.

We offer special thanks and blessings to Francois Chung and Liem Dinh from St. Joseph’s, Neil McFarlane and Roger De Souza from St. Mark’s and their team of Volunteers for their unconditional support in keeping our church premises functioning during the last nine months; and of course Brett Manuel, who has been instrumental in keeping Eventbrite booking system active through the COVID-19 changes, across the Parish.

We always tend to forget that there are 2 Ladies behind all these newsletters week by week without faulting.

On behalf of the St. Joseph’s Parish Springvale including St Mark’s Dingley Village, a big THANK YOU to both

Lorraine and Mariangela.

“I commend this beautiful, unifying and simple image as one that offers Jesus – our light and our salvation –as a hope and an anchor in our neighbourhoods and our families in this most joyful Advent and Christmas seasons. May we be united across our neighbourhoods as we emerge from lockdown and fear. May God bless us with a new energy for love and for mission, both profoundly needed in this time.”   –  Archbishop Peter

Presence

As I begin this prayer, God is present,
breathing life into me and into everything around me.
For a few moments, I remain silent,
and become aware of God’s loving presence.
