Anyone who is not against us is for us

‘Tell us, Lord, who did you welcome
among the ins and outs?’
‘A sinful woman, tax enforcer,
centurion, and thief,

‘all those with eyes and ears attentive
to hear the word of God,
with hands to serve the ill and hungry,
and hearts that can be touched.

‘These friends of mine are friends of yours, too,
not enemies or knaves.
So do not check their reputation,
but thank God for their gift.’
